Blackfriars Family Gardening Gang has been funded to create a Pollinator Palace, Wildlife Woodpile, Composting Kingdom, and Bird Hotel — bringing families together to learn gardening and sustainability skills while boosting mental and physical wellbeing in the community.

Givin’ It Laldie has been funded to run an 8-week beginner guitar course, giving people the chance to learn in a fun, relaxed group setting. All equipment is provided, and learners can continue on to a follow-up class — building skills, confidence, and community along the way.

Gorbals Greats, a tenant-led group for over-55s, has been funded to keep running their much-loved activities — from bingo and discos to armchair aerobics and community meals. They also have exciting plans ahead, including day trips and ancestry classes to bring people together.

Gorbals Youth Café has been funded to expand their Go Active programme with new outdoor play sessions — including archery, den building, hillwalking, and more. A fun and active way for young people to connect and explore!

SEAL has received funding to run a weekly Therapy Clinic offering complementary therapies to support mental and physical health, along with an Armchair Exercise Group for older adults — promoting gentle movement, wellbeing, and social connection.

We’re thrilled to share that TASK Childcare is one of six local groups awarded funding through the Gorbals Ideas Fund 2025 Group Stage! Their project will bring together parents and children for fun, creative wellbeing sessions — designed to boost confidence, build connections, and create a calm, welcoming space for families in the community.
