We finally launched our digital vote today, Wednesday 21 October - a whole six months after the original launch date. Like lots of things our work was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Although much later than planned, we think it's a good time to launch the vote. It's about time we all had something to feel good about and voting to support local groups and individuals means you can be involved in community life and make a real difference to the community - even if it is from the comfort of your own home and not at one of our Community Events.
There are thirteen great ideas hoping to attract your vote and you have £20,000 to spend to support the ones you think will make the biggest difference to you, your family or the community as a whole.
We'll use the whole £20,000 to fund the ideas with the greatest number of votes until the funding runs out. Successful ideas will be delivered between November 2020 and October 2021, so for some it may mean delivering things a little differently until we can get back to normal life, but every idea will bring something positive to the Gorbals. When you've had a read at the ideas, head over to vote.gorbalsideas.org.uk to cast your vote! Successful ideas will be announced on our Facebook and Twitter pages next Wednesday, 28 October 2020 at 6pm.
We know that some people may not have access to the internet and we'd usually offer community voting sessions across the area to make sure everyone can take part. Unfortunately we aren't able to have community sessions at this time, so to make sure everyone has a chance to take part we've developed a paper ballot which you can download here:
